An ex-classmate recalls befriending the future Oscar winner while at college together in the 1980s.
Steve Barlow studied at Crewe and Alsager College alongside the future award-winning star
He described how she had been a fan of horror movies and that the pair had watched films together and attended West End theatre shows. "She had to come to the country to engage in serious dance training - at the time the college was one of the top places to do that degree," he explained. He said Yeoh went from being "the most unassuming of personalities" to someone who was "utterly fearless"."I can remember hunkering down with her in a flat in Swiss Cottage [London] watching Police Assassins which she'd just made and I just thought 'who is this woman'?After they went their separate ways in 1986, Mr Barlow said he had tried to message Yeoh through social media but had so far been unable to contact her.
