The yield on two-year U.S. Treasuries on March 29 briefly rose above the one offered on 10-year U.S. debt for the first time since September 2019. The spread between 10-year and two-year yields, which fell as low as minus 3 basis points on March 29, was back above zero the following day.

The two-year German government bond yield turned positive for the first time since 2014 on March 29 and rose as high as 0.05%. It was at 0.01% at 1115 GMT on March 30.A screen displays stock charts while a trader works at his post on the floor at the New York Stock Exchange, May 30, 2013.
