The Book of Sin is just one of eight quest items you need to complete Exacter Dunmire's "Expose The Hallowed Sentinels" quest in Lords of the Fallen.
Quick Links Exacter Dunmire's "Expose The Hallowed Sentinels" quest in Lords of the Fallen requires players to find the Book of Sin. Moreover, the Book of Sin is just one of eight quest items you must retrieve for the character to complete his mission. Nonetheless, once found, it is one less item to worry about and one step closer to completing the quest.
Right after this ladder will be a second one you need to take, but make sure you're in the Umbral Realm before you take it. If you are not in the Umbral Realm when you take the second ladder, you will fall to your death. Move across the platforms to the other corner and take the ladder up. When you reach the top of this later, turn right and climb the second ladder.
Once you're up the second ladder, continue straight across the narrow bridge and Emerge from the Umbral Realm. Drop down to your left from here, and you can kick a plank over. Just past it is an Umbral Flowerbed where you can make a Vestige checkpoint. In Pilgrim's Perch, it will be called the "Anchor Between Realms" checkpoint, and you will want to make a save at this point.
From the Umbral Flowerbed checkpoint you created in Lords of the Fallen, head back over the plank and past where you dropped below. Continue along these scaffoldings on the side of the cliff until you reach the enemy and ladder next to the big swinging bell. You can jump down or take the ladder, but you will want to defeat these enemies.
