The White House put out a lengthy memo Wednesday pushing back on claims alleged by House Republicans ahead of a Thursday impeachment hearing targeting President Joe Biden.
White House officials had previously attacked House Committee on Oversight and Government Accountability Chairman James Comer and other Republican lawmakers for scheduling the hearing just days ahead of the deadline to fund the government for the coming fiscal year.
The memo itself purports to fully rebut the following seven claims alleged by Republicans regarding Biden, his son Hunter Biden, and the family's business dealings:"Again and again, Speaker McCarthy, Marjorie Taylor Greene, James Comer, and other House Republicans have shown that they are pursuing a baseless impeachment stunt — despite revealing no evidence of wrongdoing by Joe Biden — in a relentless effort to smear the President," the memo concludes.
