The Big Freeze is back for its ninth year on King’s Birthday, and nine Aussie household names will take on the annual celebrity slide ahead of the clash between Melbourne and Collingwood at the MCG. 7NEWS

Refusing to lay down and accept his fate, Daniher and the family were inspired to start The Big Freeze to raise money and awareness for a still incurable disease. Nearly 10 years later, the fundraiser has become a staple on the AFL calendar and one of the few days that transcends the four points on offer between the two teams.

Since the event’s inception in 2014, it’s raised $70 million for research and to support those fighting the disease.
