“Who?” Indigenous Affairs Minister Linda Burney responds to a question about Jacinta Price by asserting the Voice to Parliament is about the Australian people and is above politics.

The minister reiterated that the Australian people were being asked to vote on principle of having an Indigenous Voice to parliament, not a particular model, and dismissed the notion that the public were being asked to sign a contract without knowing the details.

Minister Burney said that a successful vote in the Voice referendum would be “a really unifying moment for Australia”, arguing that the people opposing the proposal were holding the country back. When asked why she thought Senator Jacinta Price was so opposed to the proposal, Minister Burney simply replied “Who?”

But when Sky News Australia’s political editor Andrew Clennell reiterated the question, Australia’s Indigenous Affairs minister simply reiterated her claims that the Voice is “above politics” and would improve the lives of Indigenous Australians.
