Think It Over turned in an unflattering trial during his last hit-out before the $5 million race. But it hasn’t deterred his trainer.
Think It Over’s trainer Kerry Parker has revealed his horse only arrived on course less than 30 minutes before an unflattering barrier trial, stuck in a float in Sydney traffic during a spring heatwave.
Think It Over finished a long last behind Overpass and Mazu in a trial last Tuesday on a searingly hot Sydney day. He was found to have a slow recovery rate straight after the trial, but had no issues once he returned to his Kembla Grange base later that day. “He was just having a little day out and he got there late, so I wasn’t going to put him under pressure at all,” Parker said.
Think It Over is trying to add another rich race to his resume after winning the Queen Elizabeth Stakes last year, which preceded a long lay-off with a career-threatening injury. His win in the $1 million 7 Stakes last start capped a remarkable comeback - and Parker has one eye on Stakethe Cox Plate if his horse runs up to his billing in the King Charles Stakes.
