Much of the world’s media has been focused resolutely on Vladivostok in the Russian far east over the previous few days.

Historically, Russian peacekeepers have maintained Armenian borders and have guaranteed Yerevan’s security in its long-running conflict with Azerbaijan.Two wars have already been fought, and the propensity for future conflict is very real.

Strangely, events in both Vladivostok and Nagorno-Karabakh are inextricably linked, brought on by Russian failure.
