The Expendables hit a new low.

The action movie franchise headlined by Sylvester Stallone and Jason Statham has never been one to get the best reviews. This included the franchise hitting a new low with The Expendables 3, which played a part in it taking a decade for the Expendables team to come back.
That did not mean that all hope was lost on the over-the-top action franchise. The Expendables 4's R-rating was viewed as many as a sign that the franchise was returning to its roots as a classic throwback to 80s and 90s action movies. The movie also boasts a talented cast that includes newcomers like Megan Fox, Andy Garcia, Tony Jaa, and Iko Uwais, who each bring a certain level of excitement.
Despite the attempts of more favorable reviews to bolster the movie's reputation, The Expendables 4's Rotten Tomatoes score is a franchise low by a wide margin. It sits at a paltry 17% based on 66 reviews and a 3.7 out of 10 average score. This is nearly half of the franchise's previous record low, The Expendables 3's 31%, and behind The Expendables' 41% score.
