George Pell is arguing his child sex abuse convictions should be overturned because of a 'fundamental irregularity' that prevented him entering a not guilty plea in front of his jury. 9News
Pell’s two victims have not been identified.

It comes as Mr Richter apologised for describing Pell’s sexual abuse of choirboys as “vanilla sexual penetration” during a plea deal for the cardinal. He said Mr Richter was trying to explain that the abuse Pell was found guilty of didn’t include aspects of some of the worst cases of sexual abuse, including grooming and explicit threats of violence.
Pell’s lawyers withdrew their bail application, saying “he believes it is appropriate for him to await sentencing”.
