Victorian Liberals were already saying Opposition Leader Anthony Albanese was the premier’s puppet. New reports related to the corruption watchdog will not help.

that Mr Andrews has been secretly examined as part of Victoria’s Independent Broad-based Anti-Corruption Commission investigation into the allegations of branch-stacking and poor party culture. The draft report reportedly found systemic failings which were condoned by party leaders for years.

“I’m not making any comment about those matters unless, and until, a final report is handed down,” Mr Andrews repeated at least four times. The branch stacking allegations triggered a host of resignations from Mr Andrews’ government within Labor’s right factions including Adem Somyurek and Marlene Kairouz who unsuccessfully sought to challenge the federal takeover of Victorian Labor together with key unions in the courts.

“These are diverse communities, with large families, often working in a trade, front-line workers and working mums who weren’t the kind of metropolitan laptop class who could just work from home and scroll through Netflix on the couch every day,” he said.
