Inojie ended up volunteering at a literary workshop where he got to meet some of his favorite African writers, including the famous Nigerian writer, television producer, and environmental activist Ken Saro-Wiwa for whom Inojie and his fellow volunteers performed a drama sketch about a fictional student uprising. He remembers that after the play, which he had been reluctant to participate in mainly due to shyness, Saro-Wiwa pointed him out and told him he did particularly well.
