Old upright pianos in Australia are facing a tipping point as many have reached the end of their life. But quality never goes out of tune.

While he still earns his money whether the piano is old or new, he said old pianos were not doing anyone any favours in Darwin."It's an artistic hobby, but you've to spend money on it."There's very few people playing in a band in Darwin. And only very few accompanists. "There are very few people who take pianos to the next level and that's because there's not very many good pianos around."His partner, Natalia Laska, has been filming a documentary about pianos and their owners by following Mr Tucker's work around Australia."The most amazing thing is they exist here in the Top End.The weight of a redundant iron-frame piano rarely works in its favour.
