The private investigator helping a Polish woman figure out if she is Madeleine McCann has revealed the reason behind why she took on the mystery case. The two have a distinctive brown smudge on their right iris – Maddie’s was due to a rare condition called coloboma – and share some other similar features evident in childhood photos.
Dr Johansson said she initially thought the Polish woman may be suffering mental health issues but said the evidence began to stack up as she learnt more about her life. She has also claimed she was a “victim of a German paedophile” who had a likeness to the official police sketch of the man suspected to have abducted Madeleine.
Last week it was revealed Ms Faustyna was forced to flee from Poland to the United States with Dr Johansson amid death threats over the claims.
