“People talk about the season not meaning much in the NBA these days, and I disagree,” Altman said at Cavs media day. “We’ve got to start building habits -- winning habits -- every day in practice and in games, and the season is very, very important for that. That’s going to get us ready for the playoffs.
The 82-game slog is a young and healthy man’s game. And the Cavs’ “core four” players -- Donovan Mitchell, Darius Garland, Evan Mobley and Jarrett Allen -- are all twenty-somethings who have played in at least 80% of possible games during their careers.
