A retired army general has revealed the late Queen Elizabeth II’s true thoughts about her grandsons Princes William and Harry entering the armed forces.
Retired general Sir Mike Jackson served as the British Army’s Chief of the General Staff from 2003 to 2006 and would meet the Queen for an audience “once or twice a year”.

In his memoir Spare, the Duke of Sussex penned parts of what he went through, describing killing Afghans as removing “chess pieces” and revealing his “kill count” was 25.

Nevertheless, the 96-year-old's attitude towards her grandchildren serving in the military appears similar to her feelings when her second son Prince Andrew served in the Royal Navy during the Falklands War.
