It costs a cool £6,000 a year for spa membership at London’s quintessentially English Lanesborough Hotel, just a few minutes’ walk from Harrods. That fee does, though, give you the attentions of a spa butler, truffle-flavoured nuts among the complimentary snacks and use of the sumptuous facilities, with dressing tables in the changing area.A soothing head massage with CBD-infused oils from OTO.
“We are just at the beginning of finding what it can do,” says Leicester. “I think CBD is the future. It works to restore balance in the mind as well as the body.” It’s this emphasis on our mental wellbeing as much as our physical state that perhaps explains why CBD is suddenly all the rage, with mental health taking centre stage in the wellness arena during the pandemic.
An ‘Ila CBD Immersion’ is among the range of treatments on offer at The Lanesborough hotel’s Club & Spa. “It’s best if you take CBD orally every day, like a vitamin,” says Helen Cain, head of spa for the CBD brand OTO. “Scientific research says 40-60 mg a day is ideal. It takes a couple of weeks to put everything in balance.”
