Wicked is returning to Liverpool’s Empire Theatre in 2024
One of the best-selling productions in the Empire’s history, Wicked sold nearly 140,000 tickets across its two previous visits in 2014 and 2018. The award-winning stage musical will spend four weeks in the city as part of a major UK and Ireland tour.
The record-breaking West End and Broadway musical phenomenon tells the untold story of the Witches of Oz. It is based on the novel by Gregory Maguire.Wicked imagines a backstory and future possibilities to the lives of L. Frank Baum’s beloved characters from The Wonderful Wizard of Oz - and reveals the decisions and events that shape the destinies of two unlikely university friends on their journey to becoming Glinda The Good and the Wicked Witch of the West.
