One of Sydney's beloved eastern-suburb summer spots will remain out of action until next year due to months of destructive weather. 9News
Relentless rainfall, flooding and strong seas have delayed the reconstruction of a concrete seawall at Vaucluse's Shark Beach next to Nielsen Park by several months, leaving the job unfinished until at least 2023.
The NSW NPWS began working on the rebuild at March this year with the aim to be finished in time for summer. The 160-metre barrier served Nielsen Park visitors for nearly 100 years, but was badly damaged during 2016 storms.
