A second major storm system has hit south-west Western Australia in a matter of days.

Mandurah recorded a wind gust of 100km per hour last night whilst Rottnest Island saw winds of over 90km per hour.

Coastal areas are also at risk of significant erosion with seven metre waves expected to hammer beaches south of Shark Bay. A severe weather warning remains current for the south west district and adjacent parts of the Lower West, Great Southern and South Coastal district for damaging winds, abnormally high tides and damaging surf.
