A camp fire smell wafted through the air in San Francisco on Monday evening as a wildfire burned on Twin Peaks.

Lt. Jonathan Baxter, a spokesperson with the San Francisco Fire Department, told SFGATE at 6 p.m. that the fire was still active and had burned about 2 acres, but crews were gaining control.

The blaze sparked near Twin Peaks Boulevard and Panorama and was burning in the dry grasses covering the hillside.The fire department asked residents of the Twin Peaks neighborhood to close windows and doors to prevent smoke from coming into their homes.The cause of the blaze is under investigation, Baxter said.
