.maccas is to “permanently” remove Diet Coke from menus across the country, in a move likely to anger some customers. 7NEWS
“Diet Coke will be permanently taken off the menu once we sell all of our current stock.“We appreciate you taking the time to provide your feedback and hope your next visit to a McDonald’s restaurant is a pleasant one.”When contacted by 7NEWS.com.au, McDonald’s confirmed the menu alteration.
“At McDonald’s, we are committed to providing great-tasting, great-value food and drinks our customers know and love,” a spokesman said.“In response to customer feedback and growing popularity for other low- to no-sugar beverages, McDonald’s will no longer offer Diet Coca-Cola across Australian restaurants from 11 January 2023.
“McDonald’s continues to offer a range of beverage choices for consumers, including Coca-Cola No Sugar, Sprite Zero Sugar and Frozen Coke No Sugar.”The removal of Diet Coke comes just two months after the fast food chain scrapped original Spite from menus.“McDonald’s Australia has recently moved to Sprite No Sugar across its restaurants nationwide,” a spokesman confirmed at the time. However, the move angered some loyal customers who said they were devastated by the change.
Unhappy social media users vented on a post about the subject by food blogger Russ Eats, with many arguing the fast food giant had removed their favourite drink.“They removed the best drink,” another wrote.“What’s everyone gonna do to fix their hangover now? We need the little sugar rush,” another pointed out.
