Authorities say they are working to prevent the unsanctioned event, while preparing for the possibility of its return.

However, the Wildwood Police Department and Cape May County officials have been monitoring the event since the beginning of the year and have already identified potential promoters of the H2oi “Pop-up Rally,” officials said in an online announcement. Authorities have legally advised the organizers to cease and desist doing so, according to a post on the police department’s Facebook page.
“All of these have been removed from the social media platforms as of this press release,” police said. “We will continue to monitor these social media platforms to the best of our abilities with the requested assistance of other law enforcement agencies.” Despite these actions, officials said they still have planned for the possibility of the event happening again, albeit on a much smaller scale.
“We want to be clear we have no credible information that this event is occurring in a large-scale manner as of this date, but we will continue to do our due diligence in attempting to prevent it, while still preparing for it,” the department said.
