The 22-year-old is considered to be one of the Penguins top prospects, according to reports, and has played in two games with Pittsburgh this season. Understandably for many, seeing Hallander hit the ice motionless just days after Hamlin’s near tragedy, was a bit much. Particularly considering the Pittsburgh-area connection — Hamlin played his high school ball at Pittsburgh Central Catholic and Pitt — and fans took to social media to vent and send well-wishes to the young hockey player.
