That averages out to about three murders per week since January. Of those cases, 56 of the suspects have been under 21 years old, according to Columbus police.Columbus Metropolitan Club"Passing reasonable restrictions for gun laws is the one of many things we need to do," Columbus City Attorney Zach Klein said during the panel.
Added David Tryon, the director of litigation for the Buckeye Institute: "The state of Ohio has already determined that there should be no restriction of 30-round magazines."Thell Robinson provided a different view. The founder of Halt Violence, Robinson spoke candidly about what he thinks will and will not work. He said no law or dollar amount will solve the problem of violent crime.
"People want this quick fix," he said. "I don’t give a damn how much money you throw at an agency. It still takes time to pull back those layers to get to the root to have that changed mind.""You should be put in jail for a long time because you are disrupting the lives of the people we love and the people in Columbus," he said."It’s a lifestyle that the youth and young adults have grown to love and admire," he said.
