Big corporates like Qantas believe supporting the Voice will work for them. It’s good business. But will corporate support work for the Voice?
Expressions of optimism from inside the Yes campaign for the Voice are growing increasingly heroic. Every single publishedhas support for the Voice to parliament tracking in a downward direction, yet those within the campaign are stubbornly upbeat.
What good is a sticker? Less prominent in some of the negative coverage of the airline’s Yes launch was the practical support Qantas is also offering the campaign. It will provide free flights to the Yes team, who need to travel widely to win over Australians in every state. They also needed to send a message to prospective LGBTQ employees that they would be welcome.
