Prince William attended an event marking the 80th anniversary of D-Day with his father King Charles and Queen Camilla and made a poignant remark about his wife, Kate Middleton
Prince William made a heartbreaking confession about his wife Kate Middleton during an emotional D-Day event. It comes as the Princess of Wales has stepped back from royal duties and any public appearances to focus on her cancer recovery.
The D-Day hero sweetly asked William if his wife Kate was "getting better" to which he replied: "She’d have loved to be here." Speaking to another named Norman, the prince said: "We want you here five years time for the 85th". Kate's grandma, Valerie, was a Bletchley Park codebreaker who played a part in deciphering the Enigma code. King Charles also got the opportunity to speak with veterans, including a soon-to-be centennial paratrooper, to whom Charles promised, "I'll have your card ready," reports the Express.
In an emotional speech, William said: "I am deeply honoured to join you today to recognise the bravery of all of those like John Haddock who participated in the D-Day landings, the start of the liberation of France and Europe, that led to victory of the Allied Powers.
