Jason Dickson vividly remembers the moment he heard a gunshot after deciding to follow a lone police officer into Westfield Bondi Junction on Saturday afternoon.

He was on his way home from work and had just hopped off a bus when he saw people coming out of the centre yelling and screaming."I thought, 'Okay there is something going on', so I saw one copper and I followed her all the way upstairs," he said.

"All I heard was 'Put it down' and then she shot him. Then she walked over and gave him CPR and she chucked the knife away.Six people, including five women, have been confirmed dead after a stabbing attack in a busy Sydney shopping centre on Saturday.
