Woman, 16-year-old boy found shot to death inside suburban Chicago apartment
MATTESON, Ill. â Police are investigating after a 20-year-old woman and a 16-year-old boy were shot to death inside an apartment in Matteson Thursday night. Around 10:25 p.m., officers responded to the apartment, located in the 4100 block of Lindenwood Drive, for a report of shots fired. Responding officers found the woman inside with an apparent gunshot wound to the head and the boy with a gunshot wound to the head and chest.
Both were taken to St. James Hospital in Olympia Fields where they were pronounced dead a short time later. Police say the victims are not believed to be residents of Matteson, and there is no imminent danger to the public. The shooting is being investigated as an isolated incident by the South Suburban Major Crimes Task Force and the Cook County Medical Examiner's office.
