The assault was witnessed by numerous customers and captured on video.
A 64-year-old woman was pushed to the floor and beaten during a disagreement with a stranger inside a Tuscaloosa grocery store.The victim was knocked down and then struck multiple times with closed fists, said Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Capt. Jack Kennedy.
Kennedy said the victim and the suspect – who did not know each other – appeared to be in a minor disagreement. The suspect then attacked the woman “without warning.” The victim was taken to DCH Regional Medical where she was treated for cuts, an eye injury and a brain bleed. She was in ICU at one point.
Investigators identified the suspect as 28-year-old Joseph Dion Little. He is charged with second -degree assault and was booked into the Tuscaloosa County Jail with bond set at $50,000. Note to readers: if you purchase something through one of our affiliate links we may earn a commission.
