Statistics released by the Care Quality Commission show more than 2,500 care homes across England 'require improvement'
The daughter of a care home resident, who reportedly fell 32 times in the space of a year, wrote a letter to social services fearing her mum was on the brink of death.
An additional count of 194 care homes has received the rating of "inadequate" by the watchdog. Kylie alleges she was informed about 12 instances of her mother falling at St Luke's but found evidence of an additional 20 falls documented in her mothers medical records upon her death in December 2022. Former council worker Raymond Thomas, then 65, was another patient who began a five-month stay in the home in 2022. According to his wife Paula, he experienced a fall out of bed within the first two days, followed by a series of other incidents.
