Family friends of a 95-year-old dementia patient tasered inside a nursing home have provided an update on her condition as NSW Police internally investigate the incident.

Family friend Andrew Thaler told Sky News Australia that Clare Nowland, 95, has been on life support since being admitted to Cooma District Hospital five days ago.

NSW Police Commissioner Karen Webb was asked by 2GB host Ben Fordham on Monday why the initial police statement on the incident failed to acknowledge a taser had been fired. “It was important that the family were informed of the situation in a factual manner before we went public on it, and I think that’s very necessary, and I’m sure that family appreciates that now,” she said.

Paramedics were first on scene and were followed by police who attempted to negotiate with the dementia patient.

The woman's lawyer has since provided receipts showing the bike's identification number, as seen in the video, is the same one she had reserved. Mr Morrow said NBC News “jumped the gun” and could pay a price. “For too long we have seen any dispute that involves people of different races in the US weaponized to further an agenda of racial division,” Mr Morrow said.
