The 18-year-old Hemmant woman was struck by the bus just after 5pm on Friday when the vehicle left the road while travelling along Edward St after turning off Ann St and mounting the footpath. Emergency services arrived at the scene shortly after, where the woman was declared dead after being pinned against a wall of ANZAC Square Arcade by the bus. It is understood that the woman had just left a nearby beauty salon after getting her eyelashes done before the incident occurred, according to the Courier Mail. Some had minor cuts and bruises treated at the scene while others along with the driver were taken to hospital for treatment on minor injuries. "The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating the circumstances of the incident and are appealing to anyone who may have information or may have witnessed the incident to come forward," Queensland Police said in a statement. Picture: Steve Pohlner Lord Mayor Adrian Schrinner paid tribute to the woman on Facebook and confirmed that the council would be working with Queensland Police in investigations. "This is a truly devastating incident and my heart goes out to everyone impacted by this tragedy," he said. "Hearing this news has absolutely shocked me and I'm sure the entire Brisbane community will be feeling this tonight.
