The body of a Traralgon woman has been pulled from a Gippsland creek, one day after a witness reported a person and their dog had been swept away in floodwaters.
Her son Cameron said on Facebook that his mother was taken by strong currents in the flooded creek while trying to walk across a bridge in the early hours of Monday morning. Her body was found close by.
“I love you so much and I’m begging for whatever is there to let you in and be with what they call heaven and peace,” he said. On Monday, police appealed for more witnesses to come forward after receiving reports a person and a small dog were seen walking by Whittakers Road in Traralgon about 5.30am, before the person appeared to stop to roll up their trousers near the banks of the swollen Traralgon Creek and were swept away.Cao’s death is not being treated as suspicious and police will prepare a report for the coroner.
