A woman died after losing control while driving and striking a semitruck this morning.
NEPHI — A woman died after losing control while driving and striking a semitruck Monday morning.
The 35-year-old woman was driving a Hyundai Sonata east on state Route 132 outside of Nephi when her vehicle lost control from the slushy conditions and spun into the westbound lane, the Department of Public Safety said. A semitruck pulling two empty pneumatic trailers was headed west when the Sonata spun into the lane. The truck driver tried to avoid the Sonata by moving left but the two vehicles collided, knocking the Sonata off to the north side of the road.
The woman driving the Sonata was killed on impact and the semitruck driver was shaken up but uninjured, the Utah Department of Public Safety said. The woman's identity has not been released.
