A Salt Lake City Police squad car, parked at a crime scene on Nov. 8, 2021.A 29-year-old woman was shot and killed early Sunday outside of a nightclub in Salt Lake City, police said.
At about 2 a.m. Sunday, 911 dispatchers received a call about an incident at 300 South and West Temple, which the caller later reported to be a shooting, a news release reads. As Salt Lake Police Department officers responded to the shooting, they learned that someone had put the 29-year-old woman into a car and driven away.
Dispatchers told the driver to stop so officers could find the victim, but they kept driving, eventually stopping at a hospital. Medical teams provided first aid to the woman there, but she died. According to the release, the shooting happened after an argument in a nightclub parking lot. Employees from the club had asked several people to leave, and while outside, the suspected shooter got into an argument with the woman’s boyfriend.Detectives ask that anyone with information about this shooting call 801-799-3000 and reference case number 22-229528.—This story is developing and will be updated.
