A woman is undergoing treatment in hospital after being injured in a serious crash in the Sutherland Shire in Sydney’s south this morning.
Just after 11.30am on Christmas Day, officers from Sutherland Shire Police Area Command responded following reports a Nissan Micra had flipped onto its roof after colliding with a Suzuki Swift on the Bangor Bypass, Bangor, before coming to rest against a Mitsubishi Triton.
The road was closed for more than an hour by officers from Traffic and Highway Patrol Command, assisted by the Transport Management Centre, while local police conducted inquiries.and then smashed into a Sydney home. Police are reminding motorists to take extra care on the state’s roads as two truck drivers remain in hospital after a crash in Sydney’s west on Christmas Eve.
Traffic and Highway Patrol Commander, Assistant Commissioner Michael Corboy, said road users need to take extra care while travelling this festive season. “There have been thousands of motorists issued infringement notices for doing the wrong thing, despite our messages and high-visibility presence on the roads.”
