A woman has been taken to the hospital in critical condition after she was the victim of a brutal dog attack in Townsville suburb Garbutt.
A woman has had her arm bitten off by her own dog in a vicious attack in Townsville, north Queensland .
According to Queensland Police, a woman was mauled by a dog at a Lonerganne Street property about 7.20am on Friday. After sustaining life-threatening injuries to her arm, the woman was taken to Townsville University Hospital. Picture: QLD Police.A neighbour said the incident happened after the dog, they described as being of a"mongrel pitbull mix", reacted to another neighbour who arrived at the owner's house.
"The dog got riled up at the neighbour and she put her arm out to bring him back, that's when he got her arm," the neighbour told the Courier Mail.The incident comes as another woman in Dandenong, near Melbourne, suffered critical injuries in an attack by three dogs on Thursday.The woman was taken to hospital in a critical condition.
