Woman shot after argument escalates in Campo [Breaking]
A family quarrel between two women at a home on the grounds of Campo Indian Reservation escalated Friday into a shooting that left one of them wounded, authorities reported.
The victim walked into a tribal fire station on Church Road north of state Route 94 shortly before 10 a.m., according to the Sheriff’s Department. The woman reported that she had been shot by a relative during a fight at a nearby residence, a sheriff’s official said. .Medics took the woman to Golden Acorn Casino in Campo, where they met an air ambulance for a flight to a hospital, sheriff’s Lt. Ryan Wisniewski said.
Deputies, meanwhile, went to the Church Road home where the shooting had occurred and found the alleged shooter gone. Investigators then began trying to track down the suspect. Details regarding the severity of the victim’s wounds and the nature of her relationship to the suspect were not immediately available.
