Picture: Chung Sung-Jun/Getty Images Speaking to The Weekend Australian on Saturday, Ms Ardin acknowledged she was now “happy” the WikiLeaks founder was freed from prison and returned to Australia following an extraordinary plea deal with authorities in the US.
It comes as woman’s rights activists on Tuesday said they regretted that Mr Assange was not questioned over the allegations.
