Woodlands Elite cheerleader Payton Washington spoke publicly for the first time Friday...
"It's unreal, but I'm just trying to do whatever I can to be normal and do everything a senior in high school would do," Washington told Strahan.
Police identified the suspect as Pedro Tello Rodriguez, 25, who was arrested in relation to the shooting and charged with deadly conduct, a third-degree felony. Rodriguez is currently released on a $100,000 bail. Roth was grazed by a bullet and Washington was shot three times, although she said she didn't initially realize she was shot.
A helicopter took Washington to an Austin-area hospital, where she was placed in the ICU in critical condition. Washington was shot twice in her right buttocks and once in her back. Her spleen had to be removed and her stomach and diaphragm had two holes in them, Washington said.A post shared by Payton Washington
