ExoFlare has plans to build a global biosecurity tech firm, modelled on international cybersecurity players, and has big-name backers watching as it helps tackle bird flu.

Already a subscriber?Woolworths’ venture capital firm W23, the co-founders of supermarket chain Harris Farm, the family office of Tesla chairwoman Robyn Denholm and Australian venture capital fund Salus Ventures are among backers of an Australian start-up that plans to build cybersecurity style protection in the biosecurity realm.

It has appealed to investors in the grocery sector, in the same way that cyber and fraud defence technology has previously appealed to investors in the financial services sector.
