The supermarket announced the plastic bags would be gradually phased out over the next year.
Big W, which is also owned by Woolworths, will phase out its 15 cent and 45 cent plastic bags by the end of June next year.The change will remove more than 9000 tonnes of plastic from circulation every year. Paper bags will remain available in supermarkets. Those bags are made from 70 per cent recycled paper, Woolworths said.The announcement comes two days after
