Woolworths has chosen to quietly launch a new range of their hugely popular Lion King Ooshies taking many enthusiastic collectors by surprise.
The original Ooshies were available every time Woolworths customers spent $30 in store or online.
This time round the Ooshies come in the form of a $40 advent calendar that was spotted by one mother during her Woolworths weekly shop. The mum uploaded the discovery to a Facebook group dedicated to Ooshies and has sent the group into a meltdown as collectors rush to buy the 24 new characters. The mum said she was not looking to trade or sell her collection but thought it was sneaky of Woolworths to release them with no warning.“The minis are available to purchase as a complete set for $40 and the big Ooshies are $10 each, but stock is very limited.”The big Ooshie characters include Scar, Simba, Pumbaa and Timon and the characters come in both golden and translucent shades.
Unlike most advent calenders this one does not have numbers, so children can open the boxes in any way they want. The last series caused manic swap events and even got so far as a farmer decapitating a rare Ooshie on video. The advent calendar comes with 24 characters but no numbered boxes.
