Worcestershire spinner Josh Baker has died Worcestershire have announced the death of spin bowler Josh Baker at the age of 20. Baker had made two appearances in this year’s County Championship, including Worcestershire’s 185-run defeat to Durham in Kidderminster only last month. The Redditch-born youngster, widely tipped for a big future in the sport, made his first-class debut for Worcestershire in July 2021 and went on to play 20 matches for the county, taking 39 wickets.
’ Baker made 20 first-class appearances for Worcestershire Worcestershire confirmed they would be supporting Baker’s loved ones through their grief and plans to pay tribute to the left-arm spinner will be announced in due course. ‘The club, along with Josh’s family, requests the respect of privacy as we mourn this immense loss,’ a statement on Worcestershire’s official website read. ‘No further comments will not be provided during this sensitive period.
