The visa status of a Vanuatu man is under review after he allegedly stole his boss’s car and parked it on a train line in Central NSW, while intoxicated. 7NEWS
He then cleared a 30cm-60cm gully and bounced along the grass for approximately 60m before hitting the bottom of the rocks holding up the train tracks.The man had reversed the car back onto the train tracks and left it overnight.A NSW train driver was able to stop in time, avoid colliding with the car.He then reversed the car back up onto the tracks where it became stuck, and left it there before heading home.
The following morning, at about 8.20am, a train driver travelling from Griffith to Sydney saw the car stopped along the tracks and was able to stop the train safely.A local farmer and his tractor helped police to pull the car from the train tracks.Traffic and Highway Patrol Command Facebook Police attended the driver’s home address and he was later charged with take and drive conveyance without consent of owner, driving without a licence, negligent driving and cause obstruction to railway locomotive.As a result of the incident, the visa status of the man is now under review.
