A Chinese Communist Party spokesperson has rejected a question about Beijing providing weapons to Russia, instead hitting back at the United States about its involvement in Ukraine and Taiwan.
Secretary of State Antony Blinken first revealed that the United States held concerns that Beijing could directly provide weapons and ammunition to further advance Russian President Vladimir Putin’s illegal invasion.
“On the Ukraine issue, China has been actively promoting peace talks and the political settlement of the crisis,” she said on Monday.“We do not accept coercion or pressure from the US.” The talks, which are slated for early this year, come after the Russian leader met with China’s Foreign Minister Wang Yi for high-level discussions.
