A woman thought to be the world’s oldest primary school pupil has died ‘peacefully’ aged 99 in Kenya.

Priscilla Sitienei learned to read and write alongside her great-great-grandchildren and had delivered some of her classmates during her career as a midwife

Priscilla, who lived through her country’s struggle for independence from the British, was never given the chance to go to school as a child. But the gran finally got to live her dream when the headmaster realised how dedicated to learning she was.
