The Russian President has been stripped of his honorary 9th dan black belt in taekwondo as his troops continue their invasion of Ukraine.

Leaders from around the world have continued to heap economic sanctions onto Russian elites and President Putin as his troops continue to advance towards the capital of Kyiv.

The decision to strip the Russian President of his honorary black belt comes after the International Judo Federation suspended President Putin of his status as “Honorary President and Ambassador” of the IJF, a position which he has held since 2008. “Football is fully united here and in full solidarity with all the people affected in Ukraine,” the joint statement read.
