A Russian attack on a nine-storey apartment block in the Ukrainian village of Serhiivka has left at least 21 people dead, local officials say.

"I would like to remind you of the president's words that the Russian Armed Forces do not work with civilian targets," Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said. "KABOOM!" tweeted Andriy Yermak, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy's chief of staff. "No Russian troops on the Snake Island anymore. Our Armed Forces did a great job."as it pushes to join the bloc, although membership is likely still years away.
